Music producer sues singer Adam Lambert over contracts

Colwel Platinum Entertainment recently filed suit against former American Idol contestant Adam Lambert over a contract dispute.

According to the music production company, the singer violated a Co-publishing agreement and Music Services Agreement with Colwel by appearing on the reality television show.  Colwel filed the lawsuit in federal court in California last week.

The lawsuit states that Lambert was in violation of the television show’s rules that state auditioning contestants must not have any kind of contract that would prevent them from signing a recording contract in the event that they won the competition.

In addition, the company claims that Lambert violated their rights by not following through with the requirements of his contracts with their Welsford Music Productions division.
